I didn't set out to build an app. I just wanted my evenings back.
We own a small Trike Tours business in Far North Queensland, Australia.
We take visitors on unforgettable adventures aboard our incredible trikes, cruising along spectacular tropical coastlines, winding through lush rainforests and exploring some of the most breathtaking countryside in Australia.
Our business is about creating experiences people will remember long after their holiday has ended.
And that's exactly where the story of MyAdventureApp began.
We started creating personalised adventure videos for our customers using a popular video app. It was clever technology, but it hadn't been designed specifically for tourism operators.
The videos were fantastic. Our customers absolutely loved them.
The problem? Creating each one could take over an hour of editing.
After a long day taking customers on tours, the last thing I wanted was to spend my evenings making videos.
There had to be a better way.
The $39 secret to our success
At Tropical Trike Tours, we charge just $39 for a personalised adventure video.
That price wasn't chosen by accident.
We wanted our videos to be an affordable addition to the tour, something customers could say yes to without thinking twice.
And it worked.
An incredible 99% of our customers want their personalised adventure video.
They love reliving the ride, seeing the places they've visited, watching themselves having fun and sharing those unforgettable moments with friends and family.
Keep It Simple, Stupid!
That became the philosophy behind MyAdventureApp.
I couldn't find an affordable, purpose-built solution that did exactly what I needed as a tour operator.
So I decided to create one myself.
Using everything I'd learned from hours of editing customer videos, I designed MyAdventureApp specifically for tourism operators.
The idea was simple: eliminate the editing and let the app do the work.
Now, instead of spending my evenings creating videos, I simply enter the customer's name and email address, start MyAdventureApp and capture photos and videos throughout their adventure.
At the end of the tour, I click Finish.
That's it.
MyAdventureApp brings the experience together into a personalised adventure, complete with the journey, photos and videos.
The customer receives an email with their unique access code. Once they've completed checkout, they can open their personalised adventure and relive the journey, photos and video moments.
No complicated editing. No hours spent at the computer. Just capture the adventure and let MyAdventureApp do the rest.
We Get Paid to Advertise Our Business
Here's the part I love most.
Every personalised adventure video becomes a little advertisement for Tropical Trike Tours.
Our customers are so excited about their experience that they show their families, send their videos to friends and share their adventures on social media.
And because those videos feature real customers enjoying real experiences, they're far more personal than traditional advertising.
Real people. Real smiles. Real adventures.
We're not paying an advertising agency to create those videos.
Our customers are actually paying us to produce something they genuinely want to share.
Think about that for a moment.
We're getting paid to promote our own business.
And the numbers speak for themselves.
Tropical Trike Tours is a relatively small tourism business, yet our personalised adventure videos generate an additional $20,000–$30,000 in annual revenue, on top of our normal tour income.
That's additional revenue from experiences we're already delivering.
Built by a Tour Operator, for Tour Operators
MyAdventureApp wasn't dreamed up in a boardroom.
It was born out of a real problem in a real tourism business.
I wanted something simple, affordable and practical that would save time, delight customers and create an additional income stream.
And if it could work so well for Tropical Trike Tours, why couldn't it work for other tourism businesses too?
That's why I'm bringing MyAdventureApp to other operators.
Because I believe every great adventure deserves to be remembered.
